What of the NTT? The only thing I have been able to come up with so far for the extra T is 'terraces' ... as in the National Theatre Terraces. Why? Well, they literally cast great shadows over the NT. Also, in Stage By Stage, in the 1976 entry there is this paragraph:
'Foyer music begins - free live concerts ranging from baroque and jazz to folk, given by professional groups each day in the foyer before performances. The first free exhibitions go on view in the foyers, which are described by Denys Lasdun as ‘the fourth auditorium’ all the public areas, foyers and terraces are in themselves a theatre with the city as a backdrop…'
This describes the whole of the theatre complex as a theatre - so all the world’s (or all the NT’s) a stage, rather than just the stages in the auditoriums. Through this quest we have interacted with areas of the NT which we may not have done before (certainly I haven't), and almost used the whole of it for a kind of performance? Is there going to be something that happens on the terraces on the 2nd Sep? This passage also links into the picture in the stage by stage exhibition outside the Olivier circle of the man that Jenny also saw in the foyer before her disappearance and who dropped the fragment NTT. He was from 1976 and his photo is entitled ‘Music in foyer’. And he was stood by the same pillar where Jenny disappeared.
Hmmm, maybe in that case the extra 'T' stands for time. Maybe the pillar in the foyer has acted as a time porthole - bringing the man from 1976 and maybe taking Jenny back there? Maybe the voices she heard were coming from 1976, as Jenny says she could still hear them in the foyer? Ok, that's a bit far-fetched!
And there’s the link between Jenny witnessing the jazz piano guy in the foyer messing up and the mishap research that Dr Misnuneris is conducting. I do believe that the good doctor’s name is an anagram, but I can’t quite work out what - whether it by a name – a ‘Sir’ Or a phrase or words - you can get sunrise from the letters which would tie in with shadows, but there are left over letters. And the song that the jazz guy was messing up was ‘There’s no business like show business’ is about carrying on even when things aren’t going right with a show, as its both the highs and the lows - the planned and the mishappenings - that make it so appealing.
What else? I’m thinking that it all might have something to do with the student film that Jenny wrote that she might be in
Also I thought it was interesting that the picture of Ian MacKellen had ‘Kingsway’ written over it and that was the codename that was given to Henry Irving in the first coded cast list for Richard II (with Henry playing Richard II) - and Ian Mackellen has played Richard III. But I’m assuming this is just coincidence. Can you tell me who is in the picture that hangs opposite the one of Ian MacKellen please?
